This is a pretty simple and straightforward question, though taking that into account: I will be outlining the pros and cons of adding this to our mod pack.

Prairie Fire is one of the Downloadable Content additions for ArmA 3 that provides mostly Vietnam era assets for the community. This is a community made DLC, and just as Global Mobilization has: they released a compatibility asset pack. This asset pack allows non-DLC owners to play with the content in-game and allow the server to utilize the wealth of content: free of charge. For us, as a World War II unit, here is what we have to gain or lose with it:

Pros

  • New content allowing mission makers to provide more detail with more stable structures and objects in the game. Structures and objects would be much more time period accurate, and would remove some of the lag in-game.
  • More weaponry and varied assets for utilization in game. Although it is a Vietnam era pack, there are artillery pieces from World War II and Korea, enabling us to play out scenarios in different ways, and have the authentic supporting elements.
  • Better functionality/stability with assets used in comparison to mods on steam workshop. Although we wouldn't be replacing everything, the wealth of new content would make events more stable if the mission makers lean into the new content they receive.
  • We would be able to more play different scenarios such as Mike Force and Vietnam/Korean war based missions.
  • Current DLC owners DO NOT have to download this compatibility pack!

Cons

  • The Prairie Fire DLC is 23gb in size, the same size as Iron Front.
  • Non-DLC owners cannot use the map that comes with the DLC, unfortunately.

Those are what comes to mind when proposing this. If you would like to discuss it, bring your thoughts to the comments below: otherwise I hope that we can add this to our pack! You guys decide.

This is tremendous. Just on the amount of assets that are added would help S-2 staff monumentally for future operations.
